Had to take a picture of Michael backing out of the driveway....why? Because he has a bad habit of not looking behind him when he leaves. In his defence, he's usually the last car parked in the driveway so no one is behind him. He backed into his Nana's Lexus. Thankfully he didn't do any damage and he almost backed into his brother's car.
**I did warn him that I was going to have my camera at the ready in case he backed into his dad's truck :)

Left the house at 8am to get Shelby cough drops....didn't come home until almost 5pm. Most of my Christmas shopping is done.

Shelby was trying to get her hair to go in a "fauxhawk" but it's too long on top. She is her own little self and I love her that much more for it! She doesn't care what anyone thinks. If she likes it, she's okay...yay for her.

The President came to visit me for my birthday..... He happened to be in town speaking at a local high school. I work right across the street from the airport where he flew in to. It doesn't matter how you feel about him, it's not every day that you'll see this plane.

Matthew's (in the toga and viking hat) "team" for the trebuchet project. The boys did an awesome job. They ended up with a total of 35 extra points, 10 for dressing up and 25 for hitting their mark, which is the "castle" in the background. It was fun to watch.

Not sure if you can tell, but my house is full of smoke. I forgot that my cheesecake dripped in the oven and when I preheated it, the sticky mess was burning off. The smoke was billowing out....As you can see, I needed to open windows and turn on fans.

Michael at his "desk". We definitely got our money's worth from this Step2 toddler table. Michael received this for Christmas when he was 18 months old. Here it is, 17 years later and still going strong. By the way, the chairs are also used on a regular basis. Pretty funny to see a young man trying to stuff his rear in a chair.

Looking like a trebuchet now...They still have a lot more work. Matthew had to work so Nick and Cam stayed and worked on it with Mark supervising.

Mark and Matthew cutting the wood for Matthew's trebuchet project for Physics class. Matthew, Nick and Cam are suppose to be making this as a team. It's hard for all 3 of them to get together with their work schedules. So a little work here and there and it should come together by next Monday.

I've tried to teach all 3 of my kids not to play with fire. Matthew doesn't get it, can you see that he singed his eyelashes? I said "I smell something burning" and Matthew's reply was "I think I am". Lesson for all, DO NOT PLAY WITH A LONG BARREL LIGHTER BY YOUR FACE!

Shelby reading her essay at the Veteran's Day Assembly at school. She did a good job, was pretty nervous. She was one of two students that was picked to read their essay.

She's saying "leave me alone". In the last few months she has started taken an interest in "teen" stuff (which she won't be for another year) and that means reading about her favorite celebrities. As long as she keeps the attitude in check, we'll be okay.

The witch is still up at McQuesten's. Isn't she awesome? Every other year they put her up. Usually she is taken down the day after halloween but this year we're having halloween on November 6.

Shelby supervising the burning. Anything that can be burned we're burning. Logs are being stacked to burn next year in the house and limbs are being brought to the dump. Mark is not even close to being done with the clean up.

WOOHOO! Power came back on at 5pm...after 4 loooong days without. Even with the generator, it's not the same. Kids will be back in school tomorrow. They already have 4 days to make up and it's not even winter....
