Happy 19th Birthday to Matthew! He bought Shelby a cake when she came home from the hospital so he opted for an apple pie.
09.27.13 friday
At shift change her night nurse was telling the day nurse, Susan that she'd have to top her vanilla/orange sherbet ice cream. Susan made Shelby a coke float...as soon as Shelby took a sip it foamed up and dripped all over. It was messy but Shelby liked it. Shelby was put on the adult cardiac floor and the nurses and aides took really good care of her. It truly was one of the best hospital experiences that we have had and both of the boys had surgeries.

Getting ready to go off for her procedure. Every single person that we encountered was over the top nice. The entire staff from receptionist to surgeon was so good to Shelby (and us!). She wasn't nervous but they explained in full detail what every step would be. I am glad that we picked Dartmouth. She was under for approximately 5 1/2 hours.

We had to be at Dartmouth for chest x-ray and lab work today. The hospital is in a beautiful location. Leaves are just beginning to turn colors.

Mark and Shelby eating sunflower seeds. I bought a container with 80 bags in it at the beginning of the summer because that is all Sam's had. Mark thought they would go bad before they finished them. Well, they didn't. Between these 2 and Matthew they ate every last one. I am happy that I won't be finding shells all over, anymore.

Spent a good part of the day organizing pictures for project life. Realized I never finished the last 3 months of 2012.....ugh!

Worried about Lucy. She is our goldfish (the one at top). She used to be orange but I noticed that she was white. Most of the summer I couldn't find her. I know now that's because she changed color. When I tried to find out why a lot of people posted that she was getting ready to pass. She is 11 years old. I will be so sad if she doesn't make it through the winter.

One of my least favorite chores...I stack paperwork up for 6-9 months and then spend half day going through it all. I'll try to be better....

Shelby's new do. I really like it. She got tired of trying to grow it out...didn't have a hair cut all summer and decided to go brown.

Mark met a friend and rode up through NH and came down along the Connecticut River. It wasn't the best for weather today but Sunday was nice.
I spent the day shopping at Ikea with a friend. I will be going back.

Picked enough beans to actually have at a meal...though everyone ate them raw (snacking) before I could cook them (though Matthew was able to have some with his dinner).

Helped out a member at work (normal every day help) and she appreciated it so much she sent this to us! Along with this thank you card....

When I put all of my fall/halloween decorations up Mark said that it was too early for my Spooky banner so I made an autumn one. Note: Now that I'm looking at it on the computer you can't hardly notice the "t" but in real life you can.

Went out to Carrabba's for supper. Just Mark and I. Oh yeah, Shelby and Matthew, too. The kids were going to go out by themselves, I don't know how they ended up with us.

First day of 8th grade year for Shelby. Matthew also started his 2nd year of college.
