june 29

We have a carpenter bees nest.  Mark was cleaning the gutters when he noticed all this sawdust on the roof.  At first he thought it was carpenter ants, but upon further investigation it's the bees.  He could hear them buzzing.  Only a few ever came out even with him spraying the living daylights out of that area.  He had to lift the flashing and then he sprayed....and then he heard no buzzing.  He washed off the roof so that we could see if there is anymore sawdust produced.  Lovely....

Spitting sunflower seeds and talking about what I wonder???

june 27

Working on my hooking at work.  Not sure if I like it or not.  It feels awkward and it's a lot of work.  You do 1 row at a time.  No carrying over the wool strips.  I am plugging along.  One more class on Tuesday to show us how to finish it off once we are completed with our projects.

june 26

We have deer.....they are helping themselves to my hostas, purple coneflowers and my honeysuckle.  I'm not sure what to do.  I guess it's a good thing they only eat the leaves and not the roots so everything will come back.

june 25

Trying to finish the rest of the porch...at this rate it will take me a week.

june 24

Rachel and I took a wool rug hooking class at my library.  We had fun.

june 23

Shelby and I took a ride out to Hampton Beach to check out the sand sculptures.  It was a beautiful day, though we did not stay too long because she had basketball in the evening.

june 22

My reward for cleaning all of the 3 season porch windows and screens (total of 16 each).  Took me all day!

Today is the 13 year anniversary that my sister was murdered.....and to make things worse a television station wants to talk to us about doing a 1 hours show for a new series that they're doing.....ummmm, no f-ing thank you!!!

june 21

Grace's uncle took Grace and a friend (she picked Shelby) to Boston for the day.  They had a really fun time.  They ate lunch at Dick's Last Resort.  I guess the first thing that is done is they make a hat for you and write something "funny" on it.  Shelby loved it!

june 20

Promotion night at the middle school.

My beautiful daughter is officially now a freshman in high school.  Shelby celebrated by going to a Japanese Restaurant with the Quinnevilles.

june 19

Academic awards.  Both Shelby and Grace were recognized for achieving honor roll all 4 years at the middle school.  Yes, Shelby is smart....can't you tell?     :)     We are so proud of her.  Hopefully, she'll be able to keep it up at the high school.

june 18

The 8th graders spent the day at Canobie Lake Park.  Shelby had fun.

june 17

So much for basketball being done...Shelby came home from school and said the high school is doing a summer league at NCC....so off we went.  This will let her get to know some of the players and coaches from the high school.

june 16

Matthew and Kayla went to Hampton Beach and went out to the jetty.  He said it was a little dicey getting out there.

june 15

Best game of the season and last!!  We were down by 12 points and it was not looking too promising.  Well, after half time our girls game back with a vengeance and we won the game!!  We shut the other team up.  They were very cocky, both parents and players.  To finish our season like that was one of the highlights of this season.  The girls never gave up and played until the end....I don't know what the score was but I think we beat them by roughly 20 points.

june 14

Last tournament of the season....gifts for the coaches.  This 2 ladies have put their heart and souls into this group of girls.  Put up with crap that they shouldn't have had to.  The Phillips family is very grateful to the both of them.

june 13

Shelby's rocking chair that she made in wood shop.  It still has to be painted.  We are going to put it in our 3 season porch so it will be painted white like everything else in there.  I think she did an awesome job!

june 12

Mark cut tree branches in hopes that the garden will get more sunlight.

june 11

Shelby's contacts came.  I kept putting off ordering them until she was forced to wear her glasses to save the remaining contacts for her basketball games.

june 10

Cleaning the front porch.  Ready for another season.

june 09

Matthew planting his garden.  Hopefully, it will do just as well if not better than last year.

june 08

A little game of P.I.G. between basketball games, Shelby won.  The girls won 3 out of 4 games, no maple syrup for us.

june 07

A view of Lake Champlain from downtown Burlington, VT.
In town for the Maple Syrup Classic, AAU Basketball Tournament.

june 06

8th grade dance.  The girls look so nice.  Usually 3 out of the 4 have sports clothes on.  They clean up nice.

june 05

Shopping for Mark.

june 04

Depressing....summer hasn't even started and Christmas stuff is in the stores.  Boo!

june 03

My irises are starting to bloom.  I wished they would stick around all summer.

june 01

They ended up winning their last game of the weekend...but it still was an ice cream out of the carton kind of day...
